When can we lie?

Are we permitted to lie or deceive people in today's world? I know we are taught it is wrong, but are we taught how much it is wrong?

When we give someone our word, do we keep it, regardless of the cost to us? Our word should have a "special value" placed on it. These two Christian virtues are what this message is about, and how they play a vital role in our Christian strength and faith in Our Almighty God.

Jesus Christ states He is the Spirit of Truth. Do you have the Truth in you? John 1:1 states "In the beginning was The Word, and The Word was with God, and The Word was God." Do you have The Word in you?

What is truth without trust? What is The Word without Love? These are The Foundations laid down to us to build our faith on. How strong would your faith be if you took away love and truth? Jesus Christ stated He IS the way, the TRUTH and the light. The importance of truth is not just a New Testament teaching. Zechariah 8: 16-17 puts is like this:   16 These are the things you are to do: Speak the truth to each other, and render true and sound judgment in your courts; 17 do not plot evil against your neighbor, and do not love to swear falsely. I hate all this," declares the LORD.

There is no difference between a big lie, a small lie, and a "white lie". ALL ARE LIES and are sin. The father of lies and deceit is Satan. Our Savior Jesus Christ is The Truth... Who will you follow?  Below is a poem I wrote that puts this week's message in a very condensed form.

To save His life,
He could have lied.
But He told the truth, and was crucified.

But He returned to Heaven,
because the truth He told.
To lie is a sin,
but the truth is gold.

Deception is a tool,
Satan gives his demons to use.
Abba Father uses truth,
what Father will you chose?

When do we quit praying for a person

This weeks message comes straight from scripture. It will open your eyes to many things  we sometimes question ourselves on. I have underlined parts that  we often overlook. Notice verse ten does not say we are to quit praying for the person, but to have nothing to do with them... Pastor Mark

Titus 3

Doing What is Good
1 Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, 2  to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men.
3  At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. 4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6  whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. 8 This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.
9  But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless. 10  Warn a divisive person once, and then warn him a second time. After that, have nothing to do with him. 11 You may be sure that such a man is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.
Final Remarks
12 As soon as I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, because I have decided to winter there. 13 Do everything you can to help Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their way and see that they have everything they need. 14
Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order that they may provide for daily necessities and not live unproductive lives.
15 Everyone with me sends you greetings. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all.

 Learn to Walk

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV) States we are to pray continually, then clarifies the meaning, to mean that we are to give thanks for the bad times as well as the good times. (all circumstances) It also states this is God's will for us. (to be grateful for both the good times as well as the bad.) Some people do not understand why we should be grateful for the rough times Our Heavenly Father places in our paths. To this I give this example:
As we try to teach our children to walk, we hold them by their hands to get them on the right path. But then we must let go of them, to see how well they have progressed. We watch them take a few steps, and fall. It is in their steps that they get the determination to try again, but they must fall, in order to see how far they have progressed! We praise them for how far they have learned to walked, not for falling on their butts.  However, allowing them to fall is a way to measure their walk.
How is YOUR walk with Our Father? Have you learned from your falls? Have you allowed The Adversary to steal your joy of "the walk",  by complaining  about your "fall"?  GIVE THANKS FOR THE WALK!  We also need the "falls" to make us stronger! Learn from them!
God has placed me in situations I did not care to be in. BUT it made me stronger !  For those that did not know, or that are new to SalvationFirst Ministry:
( I was in jail, waiting  to go to trial for a year! So you see, I did not find God in jail, I bought Him in with me!, for those TO find Our Heavenly Father. )
This time also allowed Our Heavenly Father to measure how far I had walked in His Word. I knew The Adversary would have loved to have me get bitter, and give into the pit falls and snares. But I had God's strength with me! I did not study the "fall". I praised God, for knowing I was His child, and this was nothing for a Child of God's!  I knew God was always with me! My "latitude" changed, but not my attitude! I refused to give The Adversary what belonged to Our Heavenly Father! I used this time to preach to men that I would never have met on the streets! I am a Pastor... my job is to go anywhere to get "The lost sheep of God's"!  There was not a steeple on the building I was in, but I carried "a temple" within me! Three weeks after my "trial", I won a brand new car! (Link) & (Link) God gave me conformation He was ready to reward me for keeping my promise to serve Him, regardless of my location!  He removed people from my life, that were too "puffed up" to serve Him in the way He demands! Yes, I know what it is like to be placed in a furnace, and walking out! (Story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego) (Daniel 3) Please understand, I am not asking for sympathy for being unjustly confined, I am saying to take pride in knowing God Almighty has a mission for you. If you accept it, do not complain about it! Take pride in knowing He called you to do something! He knew you had what it took to FINISH it. I could have bonded out, but that would not have been a reason to have been there to start with! I knew I was not guilty of a crime, so God must have had an important reason for assigning this mission! The Lost Sheep I met there, could not have been reached in any other way, except through the means God used. The Adversary is used by God, to show Him the measure of our growth.
My prayer for all members of SalvationFirst Ministry... To know the Love of God is with you always, if you agree to carry His Love with you!

The Word of God, and the question of Inerrancy

Pointing out the "inconsistencies" has been a long and popular pastime of the critics of the Bible. Tragically, even some people in influential positions hold the opinion that portions of Scripture are just plain words or opinions.

Critics cannot agree upon which sections are inaccurate. Some would erase a phrase here and there, while others might toss out entire books. This leaves the Christians in the pews wondering over how to distinguish between God's Word and a scribe's opinion. Which expert is credible?  The answer to that: Trust God as the final authority. The Creator of The Universe had no problem keeping Scripture pure.

Reading the Bible as a whole document will reveal that each part is consistent with every other. It is for this reason we are warned not to add or take from the scriptures of the Word of God.

Revelation 22:18-19  18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. 19 And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

God did allow for writers' differences in viewpoint and background, which can at times give the appearance of discrepancy. Further study, however, always reveals how the various parts fit together. Consider the Gospels' four angles on one story. Writing to Jewish people, Matthew emphasizes history and the fulfillment of messianic prophecy. Meanwhile, John tells a love story about Our Savior willing to die for the world. Though they both traveled in Jesus' company, their perspectives differed. Yet in the fundamentals, they and the other two writers are consistent.

It is critical for believers to trust in the inerrancy of the Scriptures. A flawed book could only be the product of man's hand, but the Bible is the authoritative Word of God. His Spirit did the talking, no matter whose hand set down the message.

Perhaps another way of saying this would be this example: If I told my son to tell his brother to come into the house, he would relay this message like this "Dad said to come into the house". Now his brother would not have to hear me say anything... He would have enough faith to listen to his brother, and do as he was told.

2 Timothy 3:12-17 (New International Version) 12In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

in·er·ran·cy, noun
1. lack of error; infallibility.
2. the belief that the Bible is free from error in matters of science as well as those of faith

Below, you will find scripture that speaks of REAL FAITH. Notice Elijah starts bragging about Our Heavenly Father, and telling the un-believers, their god is a joke! Then he waters down his sacrifice, making is more difficult to set a fire. Notice he watered it down THREE times! And finally, notice Our Father came through, as He always does, to His Servant and prophet Elijah. Do the Children of God have this kind of confidence today? This might be why we do not see all of God's Power today. We must learn to ask with the confidence of knowing we are going to receive! This scripture is a really GREAT read for your Holy Spirit within you.
Have a great week,
Pastor Mark

1 Kings 18:22-39 (Contemporary English Version)

22Then Elijah continued:  I am the LORD's only prophet, but Baal has four hundred fifty prophets.  23Bring us two bulls. Baal's prophets can take one of them, kill it, and cut it into pieces. Then they can put the meat on the wood without lighting the fire. I will do the same thing with the other bull, and I won't light a fire under it either. 24The prophets of Baal will pray to their god, and I will pray to the LORD. The one who answers by starting the fire is God.  "That's a good idea," everyone agreed.  25Elijah said to Baal's prophets, "There are more of you, so you go first. Pick out a bull and get it ready, but don't light the fire. Then pray to your god."  26They chose their bull, then they got it ready and prayed to Baal all morning, asking him to start the fire. They danced around the altar and shouted, "Answer us, Baal!" But there was no answer.  27At noon, Elijah began making fun of them. "Pray louder!" he said. "Baal must be a god. Maybe he's day-dreaming or using the toilet or traveling somewhere. Or maybe he's asleep, and you have to wake him up."  28The prophets kept shouting louder and louder, and they cut themselves with swords and knives until they were bleeding. This was the way they worshiped, 29and they kept it up all afternoon. But there was no answer of any kind.  30Elijah told everyone to gather around him while he repaired the LORD's altar. 31-32Then he used twelve stones to build an altar in honor of the LORD. Each stone stood for one of the tribes of Israel, which was the name the LORD had given to their ancestor Jacob. Elijah dug a ditch around the altar, large enough to hold about thirteen quarts. 33He placed the wood on the altar, then they cut the bull into pieces and laid the meat on the wood.   He told the people, "Fill four large jars with water and pour it over the meat and the wood." After they did this, 34he told them to do it two more times. They did exactly as he said 35until finally, the water ran down the altar and filled the ditch.  36When it was time for the evening sacrifice, Elijah prayed: Our LORD, you are the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel. Now, prove that you are the God of this nation, [a] and that I, your servant, have done this at your command. 37Please answer me, so these people will know that you are the LORD God, and that you will turn their hearts back to you. [b] 38The LORD immediately sent fire, and it burned up the sacrifice, the wood, and the stones. It scorched the ground everywhere around the altar and dried up every drop of water in the ditch. 39When the crowd saw what had happened, they all bowed down and shouted, "The LORD is God! The LORD is God!"

Persecution through Prosecution

This sermon deals with the problems we face and the pains we suffer from those we regard as Family and friends. We often expect to be treated harshly by those we do not know. This is because we reserve our trust for those we have learned to trust. It is for this very reason we are hurt so severely by those that betray this trust.
Deception is one means betrayal can be implemented, but it is often used on strangers as well.
2 Corinthians 4:2
Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
It is used as a common practice in and among advertisers on Television, as well as governments and the public in general.  "Bending" the truth seems a polite way of saying DECEPTION in use. The government tries to take problems, and give them to "SPIN DOCTORS", so they can take bad news and make it easier to taste or to sell to us.
What do YOU practice? Are you HONEST? Do you tell "WHITE LIES". A white lie is a lie that has been re-packaged. Jesus Christ never told ANY lies! He says He hates a liar! He calls Satan the DECEIVER, The Father of Deception, and the Father of Lies.
John 8:44
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

1 John 2:3-6   3We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. 4The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him:6Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.

Revelation 21:8
But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liarstheir place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."

Some of today's World might consider this message "over the top", because they have been conditioned to turn their back on anything that might be contrary to their life style. Today's government considers speaking against homosexuality a hate crime, and will imprison you!  This was done in The United States of America!
The show that exposed this was banned from the airways in Columbus Ohio! This link will bring you to the movie (Silencing the Christians). It was sponsored by AFA.
The State of Ohio believes in Persecution through Prosecution, as well as Prosecution through Persecution. They use extortion as a means to bring about a guilty verdict, regardless of the facts of a case. They have no problems with changing facts to force a person to "Make a deal". I say this because I know this to be a FACT of Practice. I will end this with the reminder of a young man that spent 18 months in jail, WAITING to go to trial for the murder of his twin brother. The State stated he left a "Bloody Palm Print at the scene of the crime. It was later learned that it was in fact NOT BLOOD, and could have been left there many weeks earlier... This drummed up evidence was the ONLY evidence they had. The young man stated he made it through the 18 month ordeal only through Prayer and Faith in God and his Savior Jesus Christ... Proverbs 3:27   Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act.  This scripture means very little to the  Judicial Branch of Government in Franklin County Ohio. Another man spent 35 days in jail, for not having a headlight on his bicycle. I also know a man that was charged with driving by his house. He could PROVE he did not do so.  He spent 63 days in jail, because he could not afford the $73,000 bond to get out! Had he plead guilty, his maximum time would have been 60 days! But because he wanted justice, he waited to go to court. After 63 days, they told him to "take a deal" or spend another 28 days in jail, waiting for a trial date! This is Justice??? To top this off,we are told by the media the jails are over full. They might need to release  some onto the streets unless people agree to more taxes! Sounds like scaring the public into paying more "PROTECTION MONEY" to me. How do we define extortion anyway? (see below)  Enough about Ohio  , as many of our readers are blessed by NOT having to live in Franklin County, Ohio. I just need our readers to know we are in a country that is losing our values and rights that we were willing to die for as Americans. Anyone that claims to be a Christian, is under attack, or will see family attacked. This IS one of the signs of the End Times.

Who is My Brother and Sister

Today's  message deals with many of the problems we face daily. We know we are to love our brother and sister... and sometimes this is used by The Adversary as a snare. We have been indoctrinated into thinking EVERYONE is our brother and sister... This is just not so, as we will read in the scriptures below.

1 John 3:7-24

7Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. 8He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work. 9No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. 10This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother.

Love one another
11This is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. 12Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother's were righteous. 13Do not be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you. 14We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death. 15Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him.

16This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. 17If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? 18Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. 19This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence 20whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.

Below we are reminded that we are under the New Covenant, and the Laws of Our Heavenly Father are written in our hearts and our minds...As long as we obey them, we are living in His Word. The Spirit of God, that lives within us, knows who belong to Almighty God, and those that belong to Satan. Just as an olive comes from an olive tree, we can tell by the fruit that the tree bears what type of tree it is. One does not get grapes from a thorn bush.

21Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God 22and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him. 23And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. 24Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

1 John 3:2 Or when it is made known
I an not saying to hate all those that are NOT Children of God, I am saying we are to love those who are! We are to be BETTER than those that are of the World. We are NOT of this world, we belong to Almighty God. We were adopted by the Blood of Christ. We were made sinless, because we died to the flesh, and live in the Spirit. When we live in the flesh, we account to Our Heavenly Father. Satan can not ask us to account for our sin to him, as we do not belong to him! Satan is NOT our father...  Just as another mans child does not have to account to you. Only your children account to you. You punish, praise, reward, and discipline your child, just as Our Father does to His...
We are told to warn a person of this world twice, if they do not listen, then have nothing else to do with them. I pray that all we meet and testify to listen to our hearts. The feeling of finding a "lost sheep",and returning them to the flock is a reward that is hard to explain... I pray we all have the heart of "a good shepherd", and the wisdom to recognize "a wolf in sheep's clothing."
John 8:44
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Understanding God's Message for your life

It is not an issue of whether or not we will communicate a message. Rather, the issue is, What kind of message are you already communicating? Search yourself for any deviation between what you say and what you do, and choose to share a complete, unified message of hope with the world, and to those we share our kinship in God with...

Obedience verses Disobedience
Some may ask "If Jesus was the Son of God, why did God still want sacrifice if it was His Son paying the price for it?" "Why didn't He just accept something else?"
The reason is threefold.
1) God NEVER changes. In the beginning, He demanded sacrifice for mans disobedience.
2) To overcome the disobedience of the flesh, He demanded a PERFECT obedience to rectify mans act. Only The Blood of Jesus Christ could be suitable for this atonement for us.
3) We MUST show our obedience to Our Savior to show we have changed from Disobedience, to Obedience.
We do this not by just accepting that Jesus was The Son of God, (Even Satan and his Demons know that) but by calling Him Our Lord and Savior also. We MUST be Baptized as our first proof of Obedience. We go under the water, symbolic of a "Grave of Water" Then we "Break Water", as a sign of our New Life (We are a New Creation) beginning. Just as a woman's water breaks, as a sign a new life is about to begin.
We walk around today complaining that  so and so has "disrespected" us. If we feel that way, when a fellow human has done such a deed, how would you feel if YOU were Almighty God, and were disrespected by a creation you created?
Many fail to remember we are all His Creation, but not all His Children! Until we accept God as Our God, and His Son as Our savior, we belong to Satan. Jesus paid a dear price for our disobedience (sins). We say we have been redeemed... This means we have been purchased. We could never pay the price for showing disobedience to Almighty God.
I will ask you one question that was asked to me by a Country Pastor... "If you are not serving God, who are you serving? It took me over thirty years to go back and thank that Pastor for opening my eyes. (Pastor Charles Pierce, of Grace Gospel Tabernacle, in Greensboro, NC.) I felt so thankful, I made a special trip to NC just to say "Thanks" in person. Charles did not lead me to the Lord, He led me BACK to My Savior's Arms, with those words that burned into my mind for 30+ years.
We are taught NOT to look back. (Lot and his wife is used for this example.) I feel this refers to "NOT LOOKING BACK TO OUR SINFUL NATURE"... I think we SHOULD  "LOOK BACK TO OUR CHRISTIAN NATURE"  In this manner we can see the seeds we planted along our Christian lifetime, and see if we are leaving behind a weed garden, or a "Garden of Eden"

  Future use

Our Heavenly Father often communicates with us just so we may fully understand His True Nature as Our Heavenly Father and Almighty God . When He has a specific message, He wants us to grasp it carefully and completely.  He speaks in a way His Children can comprehend.

Sometimes, we may not always understand EVERYTHING He says to us. AT TIMES, all of us have struggled to interpret His message. However, we must realize that this difficulty is not because the message is foggy, but because something in our own lives is blocking our interpretation, and getting in the way of His Message.

Unforgiveness in ourselves, somtimes prevents us from hearing God message correctly. Anxiety, fear, and lack of fellowship may also create a spiritual misunderstanding that blocks our ability to comprehend the message He has intended for us.. At times, the biggest distraction is our own desires--that is, our human tendency to want to figure things out for ourselves. We want it to mean something else, so we can justify an interest of ours, rather than His. WE answer, rather than allowing God to answer.  That attitude will create a wall between our thoughts and God's voice. We must "tear down that wall".

The reason we can hear Our Heavenly Father, is because He put His own Holy Spirit in our hearts. This is why nonbelievers are unable to understand the Word of God. They only have their human minds to use in interpreting. As Christians, we have the Holy Spirit, who works to make the Lord's communication clear to us. We must remember those that are "Babes in Christ" may not have the same knowledge as those that are more mature in their faith. (Just as an infant does not understand the words of their older counter parts. Just as infants "learn" to communicate with us,we must learn to communicate with Our Heavenly Father.

Do you sometimes have to struggle to understand God's message? You should approach each challenge, determined to understand all of the aspects of the situation by slowing down, surrendering your anxious thoughts to Him, and letting His wisdom fill your mind. Keep The Holy Spirit within you STRONG and well fed, by Prayer and reading The Word of God daily. We are blessed with the knowledge in knowing we have a kinship with The Creator of All things, Almighty God!

Our Heavenly Father calls us to share His Word with others, but often times our actions and attitude completely contradict the words that are coming out of our mouths. This is an area in which we all seem to struggle from time to time. We must remember as Ambassadors of Christ, the world waits for a reason to steal your worth as a messenger of God's.

We communicate something to someone everyday. We send messages by what we say and by what we don't say, by what we do and by what we don't do. For example, if a father quietly decides to stop tithing his income, he is sending a loud message to his children. Without ever opening his mouth, he is declaring, "Kids, you can't trust the Lord with your money. God isn't faithful to meet your needs, so you better hold on to as much as you possibly can." Is that the message you want to pass on to your children?

You might argue, "Well, I'm not really a financial supporter, but I would never tell my kids that you can't trust God." Yet you have already sent an unspoken message loud and clear. What people--especially children--witness in our behavior speaks louder than what we actually say with words.  Your actions MUST show that your words have meaning. "Practice what you preach" Jesus Christ did...

The apostle Paul understood what powerful lessons we teach by our actions. For this reason, he made sure he modeled the right behavior and values for his spiritual children to emulate

2 Thessalonians 3:7-9 (NIV) 7For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example. We were not idle when we were with you, 8nor did we eat anyone's food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you. 9We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to make ourselves a model for you to follow.

42Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me. 43Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
47He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God."
