Do you really want success?

Does it really matter if one person thinks they can become successful and another feels success will never be attained? If being right is all it took, then they are both correct ! You really are what you THINK you are.

Having positive thoughts is just one of the main Christian beliefs. It is sprinkled through the Bible "like the corn in chowder", meaning of course that you can not get a spoonful without  seeing it.  It is one of the main ingredients .  Just as we love to see our children prosper, Our Father wants us to get the most out of our life, while we share it with the people on this place we call Earth.

Being "poor" will not make people "line up " to become "like us". I am not saying that money is what life is all about either. I am saying Our Father does not allow His children to not have their needs met. After our needs are met, we try to look after the needs of others, BEFORE we spend on the WANTS of ourselves.

If I were ever asked what would be a second choice for a name for SalvationFirst, it would be FamilyFirst Ministries. This is the order of importance that Our Father used. Our Salvation was His first concern. Us all claiming His Son as Our Savior also made us "FAMILY". Not just to Him, but to each other. I am getting off the subject so let me return...

Have you noticed the more successful people all speak of their love for Christ? I see so many people buying books to tell them "How to do it..." IT IS ALL IN THE BIBLE!!  "Claim the victory" Say it as though it is already a fact ! There are over fifty verses just on this!

I have NOT added scripture to this sermon because once I started, it would have been so long, you would have deleted it on first sight. If you would like scripture on it, please ask and it will be sent to you. If you thought this was long enough... forward it to your friends.

Sermon # 2 Page 4
Yesterday is History, Tomorrow, a mystery, Today...A Gift.
We are to learn from our past, not live in it. The good we did then , is meant to be repeated again. The mistakes we made are to be lessons for today, and not to be repeated.  We have a Holy Father that is eager to forgive us, because He cannot receive us in prayer, until we ask for forgiveness... This forgiveness is a big part of the plan for Our Salvation. The Plan of Salvation is not just to get us "Through the Gate", but to open up Our Souls to the voice of Our God.  People "of the world" have a hard time understanding this concept of life. They really think we HAVE to live a good life. They do not know Christians ENJOY living a good, clean life! They have a hard time in the concept that WE can TALK to The Creator of all that is! The thought that we are on more than "just speaking terms" with The Almighty God, is way beyond their ability to grasp. (Some times it makes me tremble to think about it!  )
I know that many Christians think I was wrong in saying "Tomorrow a mystery", because they know they are Heaven Bound. But lets say for a minute I am not going to join Our Father Tomorrow. It was with this thought I am speaking. I know that Our Father has tasks for all of us to do. It is the completion of these tasks, that bring Glory to Him. The mystery is... I have no idea what He will have in store as a task for me next week, month, or year. I do know that every time I complete a task, Our Holy Father smiles the "We did good" smile. I say "we",  because I know without Him, I would not have the strength to finish a task. I know that He is the ONLY "I AM". All my tasks must start with WE. If I started a task without Him, then sit back and watch it fall apart! (Might be why I never truly win an argument)
Well we have covered YESTERDAY and TOMORROW, that leaves TODAY.
Today is a gift... but I did not mention to whom the gift belongs? WE are a gift to God. Jesus was the gift to us and all of mankind, and The Holy Spirit is the gift for all that believe and accept the Plan of Salvation. When you awoke this morning, that was a gift from God. When you look into the eyes of a child, and see their heart, that was a gift from God. When you see your wife's love flowing through her unselfish acts, that was a gift from God to both of you. When you hold your wife into your arms , and still feel the love that was there from the beginning, that was a gift from God. I could go on and on... but you see my point. We are FLOODED with gifts everyday, Remember to give thanks for them.
Sermon # 3 Page 4
How can a person, save a person from Hell? WE CAN'T! We can show them the scriptures, we can show them the things that are here through the Grace of God, we can testify as to the changes God made in our life. We can explain the Plan of Salvation, and how anyone can afford the price of admission. We can do many things, but we can NOT save a person from Hell. This is a personal commitment between them , Jesus, and God the Father. To accept Jesus as your Savior is more than a trip to Heaven. It is a change in life style. It is like a caterpillar changing into a butterfly. We all have the option to accept or decline the Gates of Heaven for the Pits of Hell.
As Christians, we sometimes take this rejection of Our Faith too personal. This is due to the changes in our hearts that were made when we accepted the Plan of Salvation. Our hearts changed us into a more caring, gentler person. We know that the Plan of Salvation is NOT just a ticket into Heaven, but the beginning of a blessed life here on Earth. We are told in the Word, NOT to expect all to answer the call. Hell will be full, through NO fault of ours. We sometimes feel like WE failed God if we can not bring another person into the arms of Our Father. I am here to say, do what you can... and let it go. We can tell a brother or sister in God by their Nature. It is a more "at peace" nature.

Sermon # 4 Page 4
Can I lose my Salvation?

I was bought up with the heart of a Southern Baptist, and as such always was told that my Salvation was forever. The only way to lose it would be to deny the existence of God, which would have me deny my Salvation. So my interpretation was "once saved, always saved," carried merit. This was how it was taught to me at church, and I never gave it much thought after that. The fact that this was under the summation I was going to stay in the body of the church, played a large part in this conclusion. I never gave it thought that I could "Back slide into Hell". I knew I was a member of the God's Family, VIA The Blood of Jesus, The Plan of Salvation, and the Love I felt poured on me during my Prayer Time. Could I have been wrong?? Sorry to say... YES

I know this is going to get many of you upset... but it is a message I must send out to all of you. My heart says it, and The Word of God demands it. James 5:19 My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back, 20 remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins.  Wander from the truth? Save him from death? Does this sound like it is forever? We sometimes look at the parable of "The Prodigal Son" and think... "He never lost his fathers love".  This is true, his father welcomed him BACK into the family. But the son did have to RETURN to the Father...then and only then was he welcomed back. His father never went looking for him. Had the son died while away, he would never have seen his fathers love was there... waiting for his return.

So I have one request of all members of SalvationFirst Ministries. Please share this with those you love. Take the time to make sure YOU are still in the Word by talking to Our Father and Savior tonight.

Sermon # 5 Page 4
And the Battle begins!
There are many reasons we should attend church. Fellowship and worship being the reasons most attend. But in today's time, we must learn more of God's  Word, and their true meanings, than ever before. Remember, Satan knows the Word of God also!. He is The Great Deceiver! He knows how to take a verse from context, and make it appear to have a different meaning. We must be able to read the chapter for meaning, rather than a verse for vanity. Christians all know John 3:16, but do you know John 3:17-21 ? They complete the message! "17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God." "
So you see, this verse carries more than a compact version of The Plan of Salvation. Using one verse for meaning, is like using one word to mean a sentence. It has a meaning, but not the whole meaning. I would rather have all the meaning!
Don't just say "Look!",  when you mean "Look out, there is a bus heading for your car!"
As I  said, The battle begins! Satan knows the Word of God also, and will use parts of it to devour Babes in Christ. Satan knows those not yet clothed in Armor, are easy prey. So put on the Armor! Don't be caught "with your pants down!" They will say things like "And You call yourself a Christian, what happened to turn the other cheek?" Tell them, "For my brother , I turn the other cheek, but when you attack My Holy Father, My Savior, or my Faith, then it is an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth!"
I am going to wind this up with 10 more verses. They will help you understand the power God has given you, in defending your faith.
Ephesians 6:10-20    ~ The Armor of God ~
10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

19Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Sermon # 6 Page 4
 Helping others through Faith

How many times have you been tempted to just "Not get involved". I know sometimes we are afraid the effort my not be worth the time or aggravation. Or perhaps we might make the excuse, "They are doing fine without my help".  Now let me ask you this: How many times did you get conformation in the way of someone siding with you? How many times have you felt your spirit was under attack? Did a Brother or Sister came to defend your viewpoint in the Word of God? Is YOUR comfort zone of THIS world, or is it with Our Father's? I hope this helped you see how important YOU are in helping others see God's Love in your life.
Hebrews 13:1-5

1 Keep on loving each other as brothers. 2 Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it. 3 Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.  4 Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. 5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,  "Never will I leave you;  never will I forsake you."[a] 6So we say with confidence,   "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.  What can man do to me?"[b]

Sermon # 7 Page 4
 Why we go to church
Once there was a man that always thought of others first. When he met a person, he would see their heart, rather than the clothing or other outward appearances. If he saw a person in need, he would always try to make sure the person left him feeling a little bit better about life, than when they first met. Helping others, made him realize how much God had entrusted him with.
Well, one day he was leaving at a local supermarket, and he met a beggar in the parking lot. His clothes were ragged, face unshaven, and general hygiene needed attention... The man stated he was looking for employment, and was hungry.
The man invited him into his home for a dinner. After dinner, he gave him a  razor, told the man to feel welcome, and offered the use of his bathroom to refresh himself in. He told the man he had some clothes that he was welcome to take. He explained to the stranger that it would be easier to gain employment if the world could see his true nature. He then returned the man to where the stranger asked him to.
After all the man had done for the stranger, he opened his wallet. He counted his money and only had seven dollars. He took one dollar, and gave the stranger six dollars, and wished him the best.
Well, as the man turned to get back in his car, the stranger hit him in the head, knocked him out , and stole the other dollar! When the man came to, he looked up and the stranger was long gone. He then prayed for the man to have his nature changed. For this, the man received his "hug" from our Father, knowing he had made Our Father proud.
Is there a point to this story? Well, This was the first sermon I ever gave (No, not word for word)  There are several points.
1) God owned all of the days. He did not give you one, and take six, He gave you six, and took one! How many times have YOU stolen the last day from Him?
2) The man is much like Christ. He cleaned him up, ant thought about how to improve his life. Christ can do many things for you, but you need to be open to have it done. "Free will" will cause many a soul to die. Christ can offer you a new life, but YOU need to do YOUR part also.
I hope this little story will open your eyes. Granted, there are many in this world that will take advantage of your open heart, but for them ... we pray for. Do not let the enemy steal your blessing, your "hug" from Our Father. We are  "in"  this world, but not  "of"  this world.
Today's scripture is in your heart.
Sermon # 8 Page 4

What is your worth as a Christian?

Many people call themselves Christians, because they attend church every Sunday. But what were they doing Saturday?  Would they want their neighbor to vouch for their character? What is nature? First, let me illustrate my point with a little humor:

"Talking Dog"
A guy is driving around Reynoldsburg, Ohio and he sees a sign in front of a house: "Talking Dog For Sale." He rings the bell and the owner tells him the dog is in the backyard.
The guy goes into the backyard and sees a Labrador retriever sitting there. "You talk?" he asks.
"Yep," the Lab replies.
"So, what's your story?"
The Lab looks up and says,

"Well, I discovered that I could talk when I was pretty young. I wanted to help the government, so I told the CIA about my gift, and in no time at all they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders, because no one figured a dog would be eavesdropping. I was one of their most valuable spies for eight years running."
"But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't getting any younger so I decided to settle down. I signed up for a job at the airport to do some undercover security wandering near suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible dealings and was awarded a batch of medals. I got married, had a mess of puppies, and now I'm just retired."

The guy is amazed. He goes back in and asks the owner what he wants for the dog.
"Ten dollars," the guy says.
"Ten dollars? This dog is amazing. Why on earth are you selling him so cheaply?"
"Because he's lying, he never did any of that stuff."

Funny? Perhaps, but also very true. We seldom realize how many eyes are looking at us, just waiting to judge us as a hypocrite. The sad part is, to many times, they are correct! Too many times there are two different people attending church. You can not be in the bars on Saturday, and testify on Sunday. Don't talk about how the "heathens" do not pay their bills, when you do not tithe to a God Blessed Ministry. Don't talk about the splinter in your neighbors eye, when you have a log in yours!

1 Peter 1:13 -16 13
Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. 14As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy."[a] 1 Peter 1:16
Colossians 3:8
But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Colossians 3:8
Matthew 5:16
In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
Romans 7:4
4 Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God.
Romans 2: 10-24
10 but glory, honor, and peace to everyone who works what is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 11 For there is no partiality with God.
12 For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law 13 (for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified; 14 for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, 15 who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them) 16 in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus
Christ, according to my gospel.  17 Indeed you are called a Jew, and rest on the law, and make your boast in God, 18 and know His will, and approve the things that are excellent, being instructed out of the law, 19 and are confident that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness, 20 an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, having the form of knowledge and truth in the law. 21 You, therefore, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal? 22 You who say, “Do not commit adultery,” do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? 23 You who make your boast in the law, do you dishonor God through breaking the law? 24 For “the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,” as it is written.
Matt 5:16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Ephes 4:17-5:21
22You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

(b)Ephesians 5:5 Or kingdom of the Christ and God
1 Tim 6:  11-21
11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 13 I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, 14 that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing, 15 which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.
~Instructions to the Rich~17 Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. 18 Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, 19 storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
Guard the Faith
20 O Timothy! Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge— 21 by professing it some have strayed concerning the faith.
Grace be with you. Amen.
2 Tim 4: 2-5
2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
Titus 2 :  11-15
11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
15 Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.
Philemon 6
6 that the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you[a] in Christ Jesus.
Heb 3: 12-13
12 Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; 13 but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
Matthew 7:2-5
2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. 3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

25Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body. 26"In your anger do not sin"[a]: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27and do not give the devil a foothold. 28He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need.

29Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Ephesians 5

1Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children 2and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

3But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people. 4Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. 5For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a man is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.[b] 6Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient. 7Therefore do not be partners with them.

8For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 9(for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10and find out what pleases the Lord. 11Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. 12For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. 13But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, 14for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said:  "Wake up, O sleeper,  rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."

15Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is. 18Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. 19Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, 20always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

21Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ

Have a great week!

Sermon # 9 Page 4

"A little rain must fall into everyone's life"

I was reminded of this as I read this tidbit of humor. I also know many people are getting like this with their Christian life.

One day a young man was writing a letter to his girl friend who lived just a few miles away in a nearby town. Among other things, he was telling her how much he loved her and how wonderful he thought she was.

The more he wrote, the more poetic he became. Finally, he said that in order to be with her he would suffer the greatest difficulties, he would face the greatest dangers that anyone could imagine. In fact, to spend only one minute with her, he would climb the highest mountain in the world. He would swim across the widest river. He would enter the deepest forest and with his bare hands, fight  the fiercest animals.

He finished the letter, signed his name, and then suddenly remembered that he had forgotten to mention something quite important. So he added:

P.S. I will be over to see you Wednesday night as long as it doesn't rain.

Do not become a "Rainy day Christian" What we have is a very special gift from Our Father. It was paid for by Our Savior Jesus Christ, because we could NEVER cover the cost on our own. Our Savior did MORE than allow us to enter through the Gates of Heaven, His Blood allows us to pray to Him, and to bond into the Holy Family. His Blood gives us the power to caste out demons. His Blood allows us to be blessed BEFORE we leave this planet. His Blood allows us to be a blessing to Our Father. His Blood made His Father, Our Heavenly Father. There is truly Power in the Blood of Jesus!

I am reminded of how undeserving we are as a people, when I read the paper, or watch the news. American Christians are the luckiest in the World, yet we have become to timid! God said to "turn the cheek", not to remain silent and let His Word become stagnant!

When you speak about God, speak with authority! When you speak of Jesus, speak of love! When you speak about a person that has done wrong to you, speak of forgiveness! I am not going to add scripture to this, as you all have already read it over and over. My point today is this, do not just read it, LIVE IT... TALK IT... BREATH IT... SEEK TO BECOME IT!

"You are not judged by your works" means you could not do enough to deserve the gift of Salvation by yourself. It does NOT mean to sit around and do nothing! I do not love my children by what they do for me. I see how much they love me by what they do for me! And not just what they do, but by the way they do it! The "Dad is going to love this so much" attitude they have while doing it. This should be the mind set we have in serving Our Father.

I really want to post some scripture here, but I said I would refrain from it. How ever if you ask me :) , I will be happy to do so...

Sermon # 10 Page 4
Bending the Truth

How many times have YOU justified your actions, knowing you were breaking the rules? It is easy to "Bend a meaning" to suite our own needs, but it is still wrong! Below is a humorous example of what I am talking about:

Two lawyers walk into a restaurant. They, put their briefcases on the floor and order two coffees. They get their coffee and pull out lunches from their briefcases.
"Sorry," the waitress says, "You can`t eat your own food here."
The lawyers look at one another, shrug their shoulders and swap sandwiches

How "wrong" does something have to be, before we feel convicted by the Holy Spirit?  We are told we will know when we are sinning. We are also told that for some, one thing may be a sin,  while it is not a sin to another. God places this "self judgement" within ourselves. God put a trust in us, that we must be careful not to abuse. He cautions us however, that HE will be the judge. God does know what He has laid on your heart. So although your Brothers and Sisters are told not to pass judgement on you in "gray" areas, we are to remember, this is not a "Free Pass" to do "as the world does.

As a Child of Our Holy Father, we were changed. Our Nature changes in many ways. This is why even though we are allowed to "do as we please" we will always choose to please Our Father first. As the example above shows, we will "eat" Gods Word, and not "swap sandwiches".

Romans 14:1-4 1 Accept Christians who are weak in faith, and don't argue with them about what they think is right or wrong. 2 For instance, one person believes it is all right to eat anything. But another believer who has a sensitive conscience will eat only vegetables. 3 Those who think it is all right to eat anything must not look down on those who won't. And those who won't eat certain foods must not condemn those who do, for God has accepted them. 4 Who are you to condemn God's servants? They are responsible to the Lord, so let him tell them whether they are right or wrong. The Lord's power will help them do as they should.

The above is just some of the scripture that we should base our life on, and is what I based this mini sermon on. However the rest of the chapter makes it clear who we are accountable to. For that reason, I am including it also, along with a link to this scripture in the "On line Bible" (in the footnotes)

5 In the same way, some think one day is more holy than another day, while others think every day is alike. Each person should have a personal conviction about this matter. 6Those who have a special day for worshiping the Lord are trying to honor him. Those who eat all kinds of food do so to honor the Lord, since they give thanks to God before eating. And those who won't eat everything also want to please the Lord and give thanks to God. 7 For we are not our own masters when we live or when we die. 8 While we live, we live to please the Lord. And when we die, we go to be with the Lord. So in life and in death, we belong to the Lord. 9 Christ died and rose again for this very purpose, so that he might be Lord of those who are alive and of those who have died.

10 So why do you condemn another Christian[a]? Why do you look down on another Christian? Remember, each of us will stand personally before the judgment seat of God. 11 For the Scriptures say,  " `As surely as I live,' says the Lord  `every knee will bow to me and every tongue will confess allegiance to God.' "[b]  12 Yes, each of us will have to give a personal account to God. 13 So don't condemn each other anymore. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not put an obstacle in another Christian's path.

14 I know and am perfectly sure on the authority of the Lord Jesus that no food, in and of itself, is wrong to eat. But if someone believes it is wrong, then for that person it is wrong. 15 And if another Christian is distressed by what you eat, you are not acting in love if you eat it. Don't let your eating ruin someone for whom Christ died. 16 Then you will not be condemned for doing something you know is all right.

17 For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God. And other people will approve of you, too. 19 So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up.

20 Don't tear apart the work of God over what you eat. Remember, there is nothing wrong with these things in themselves. But it is wrong to eat anything if it makes another person stumble. 21 Don't eat meat or drink wine or do anything else if it might cause another Christian to stumble. 22 You may have the faith to believe that there is nothing wrong with what you are doing, but keep it between yourself and God. Blessed are those who do not condemn themselves by doing something they know is all right. 23 But if people have doubts about whether they should eat something, they shouldn't eat it. They would be condemned for not acting in faith before God. If you do anything you believe is not right, you are sinning.
