Salvation: Free for the taking
Never use the insurance approach to lead someone to the plan of Salvation. It is not insurance, it is a precious gift from Our Heavenly Father, paid for by the Son of God. The "Better safe than sorry" approach is just wrong! It does not lead to Salvation of the spirit, it will lead them into the Pits of Hell. It leads them to a "Well, I don't have to worry now, If there is a Heaven, I will go, and if there isn't, well I have not lost anything" attitude. This is not the way to look at this Precious gift from God the Father and God the Son.

What and how do you Worship ?
How much time do you spend in church, watching Faith based television, reading your Bible, and praying a week? Do you often attend Wednesday services? Do you always say Grace at the Dinner Table? Do you eat at the table as a Family? Do you give God All the Glory for the things you have? Do you openly show your love and respect to Our Father regardless of who may hear you? Are you quick to ask for forgiveness when you are convicted of sin by the Spirit? I do not look at these things as things I HAVE to do, I look at them as things I GET to do.

Just as my two year old loves to do things that make me say "Gracie, I am proud of you" I want my life to be one that will make Our Father proud of me. My daughter loves to hear me say "Gracie, do this for Daddy", We should love to do things for Our Father in the same way. If your neighbor needs help, then help them, but say "I am glad God gave me the means to help you." Show them that the help came from God and He used you to do it. NEVER take the credit for acts of kindness, it is the Spirit of God that lives within you that deserves the credit. If you take the credit now, then you will not have the feeling of a blessing from Our Father.

I have told my wife that I can drink all I want to. I can go to all the Bars I want to. I can date all the woman I want to. I can have sex with any woman I want to. I can steal all I want to. I can lie all I want to. I can cheat all I want to. Does my wife care? NO.  Because she knows God took all of these types of "want to's"  away when I was saved! I became a new creation. The only woman I want, is my wife. She is a gift from Our Father. My children are gifts also (sometimes) (LOL) I have a BLESSED LIFE. I am not sure when I will be called home, but I am packed and ready when the time comes! ~Pastor Mark

1John 1:9

1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

We are so fortunate to have a Father that forgives us in the manner that allows us to have a closer relationship with Him. I have been around people that SAY that they forgive others, but the fact is, they keep it in a file to use against the person at a later date. Or they "Forgive, but do not forget."

The lesson we all must learn to remember, is this. Our Father forgives, then CLEANSES us of the sin. He cleans us up for ALL unrighteousness. The scriptures say "He is faithful and just." This is a promise that He will never say "I will not forgive this one" or "Sorry, you waited to long to ask me."

Our Heavenly Father loves us ! The Creator of ALL loves us! The One and Only God of Everything Loves us! What do we do to deserve to maintain this kind of love? Well, we take the time to talk to Him about our problems. We listen to what He says. We take His advice. We thank Him for being there for us. We ask for His forgiveness when we bring Him shame. We thank His son for making the "Plan of Salvation" affordable to all. Will God ever stop loving His Children?? Let me put it another way... will you ever stop loving yours?? I know that cash speaks big here on Earth, But my Heavenly Father sees a worth in me that very few people of The World see. As Christians, we have got to be less of this world, and more in tuned with the Word of Our Father.

I know I have short comings (Faults), the are not really in the sin category, but they are not traits that I want to carry around either. To change, I will need to pray more. I know Our Father will open my eyes to other faults I have. I will always be growing closer to Our Father, as I recognize the ways that do not bring Him joy. I take this closer look at myself, and pray that you will do the same. I do not expect you to email or write me about your faults, but I would like for you to ask Our Father what You can do to "get a little closer" to Him.  One day we will all get to take our journey home, lets show Our Father that we know how to live together here.

Ask, and Receive...

Will Our Father give us anything if we ask for it in prayer? Let me ask this in a different way. Would you give your child anything if they said "PLEASE".
My point is this, Our Father looks after our best interest...ALWAYS! If my two year old begs me for a knife to play with, I am going to say no. If she goes ahead and takes it anyway, I am going to take it away, and scold her. Some people have a problem with this concept, and some need to get closer to Our Father. HE is Our Master! I made Him my Master when I turned my life over to Him. Now concerning the things I ask for that are good for me... They are mine. I ask, and claim them. When I get them, will be when I am ready for them. This I leave up to Our Father. The reason is simple, If I get them before I am ready, I will lose them. Think about how many times people have had a windfall, and blew it. They have no idea where it went, but it is gone as fast as they got it! My point in this message is this, LISTEN to our Father when you pray. Always ask "If it is in Your will" and NEVER try to "make a deal" with Him. When I tell my kids "no", if they keep hounding me, it does not make me want to spoil them, it ticks me off!
Pastor Mark

1 John 5:14-15

New International Version
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, he hears us. And if we know that He hears us--whatever we ask--we know that we have what we asked of Him.

King James Version
And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us: And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.

Standing in Judgement

Have you ever noticed that many people are quick to judge your salvation before they even know you?  I find it puzzling that people are more judgmental than GOD is! Our Father saw us for the sinners that we are, and found a way to forgive us. The Plan of Salvation was authored by Our Heavenly Father. He made it so simple, that even a child can understand it! He put it at a price, that everyone can afford it! Yet we still have people acting as if  THEY paid the price for your salvation! I know there are people that are not saved, and will never be saved. I say this because the scriptures tell me this is true. However I am not the one to judge them.  Just inform them of the scriptures, that will bless their life abundantly. Just as the moon reflects the light from the sun, we should reflect the love from Our Father to both believers and non believers.

Titus 3:5
New International Version
He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

King James Version
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.

"The Beginning" and the "Origin of Man"

We hear a lot of stories right now about having Our Father's Word being taught in school as a theory on "The Beginning" and the "Origin of Man" as a  Science subject. I for one would prefer that it NOT be taught in that forum.
Science has been WRONG so many times. Our Father has NEVER been wrong.
SCIENCE SAYS that a Bumble Bee cannot fly because the wings are too short and the body is to large. The bee with it's short wings would never be able to carry the weight of the bee.
SCIENCE SAYS that the female's give birth, EXCEPT for the Sea horse. This is the best Science can say?? We are to take their word for this? Come on now. Sounds to me like The Scientist's did not eat enough from the Tree of Knowledge!
The ONLY reasons I can see that there is not MORE PROOF the Book of Genesis is 100% CORRECT, would be that it would defeat the purpose of defining FAITH, and the reason for giving us FREE WILL. So you see, my problem is NOT that they refuse to admit The Word of God is fact, my problem is they are pushing Darwin's word as fact! Theory does NOT become fact by repeating it over and over to the masses.

Talking to Our Father, is a real, as when I speak to my wife. He is NOT a theory. Miracles have no scientific reasons for happening. Jesus did not have a scientific reason to be crucified. The Plan of Salvation is real, not scientific. It was not any endorphins that made Christ my Savior. It was His love for us... plain and simple.

Protecting us  from ourselves

WHY God does what He does, is as important as WHAT God does for us. What we perceive as bad, many times may be what we need to save us from our own problems. A good example of this is this story:

In 1981, a Minnesota radio station reported a story about a stolen car in California. Police were staging an intense search for the vehicle and the driver, even to the point of placing announcements on local radio stations to contact the thief. On the front seat of the stolen car sat a box of crackers that, unknown to the thief, were laced with poison. The car owner had intended to use the crackers as rat bait.

The police and the owner of the VW Bug were more interested in apprehending the thief to save his life than to recover the car.

So often we feel that we are under God's punishment. But what we are actually doing is eluding his rescue. Some people see trees, some see a forest. I see proof that Our Father is still at work, protecting what is His. I feel fortunate that I fall in that category of His protecting grace. I am grateful for the shared commitment between me and Our Father. We should remember, we belong to Him, and He belongs to us. He has kept every promise He has ever made to us. Have you done the same?

1 Corinthians 6:19-20
New International Version
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with both your body and spirit.
King James Version
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

~Life Today~
We should not allow Satan to steal our blessings. Sometimes while being blessed, we allow Satan to change the mood and mind set we are in, and we no longer can feel the blessings meant for us at that moment.

The Great Gift that we received from Our Father, by way of the Plan of Salvation, is Eternal Life. This gift was paid for by Our Savior, Jesus Christ, Son of God.  Satan has claim to all those that have not accepted the Plan of Salvation gift.  Without this gift, our spirit is dead,
Satan has destroyed so many lives with Greed, Lies, False Pride, Sexual promiscuity, and Disrespect of Parents / other Authority figures.  Also by blinding people, not with light, but rather by the taking of the desire to see light, leaving them in darkness. We are warned by Our Father of these life draining  events by the Ten Commandments.

It is the desire and will of Our Father that all of us receive  the most in our life.  Just as we are glorified by our children's accomplishments, we Glorify Our Father when we practice the lessons He has taught us, and achieve Greatness in His Name.

John 10:10 New International Version
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly .

We were called to be a Witness, not a Judge.

~ Resurrection Sunday ~

There are so many scriptures that could be said today. I really do not ever want to be the person that sends out a Resurrection Sermon that just says what we all already know by heart. So what I am going to do , is send out this short chapter of John 17. I feel it will add so much to your knowledge of this Most Holy of Days. I am sure many of you attended a Resurrection Day Service today. For those that could not make it today, know that you are in my prayers.

I want to thank Our Father for being the Father that He is. His love is beyond any comprehension I could ever hope to attain while here on Earth. I want to thank Our Savior, Jesus Christ, for completing the Plan of Salvation. I know I will never be able to repay Him for the pain and agony He endured on my behalf, but then His love is so pure, He never asked for repayment. One day, the Earth will tremble. I know I will swell with pride when we all can tell Satan... He's Back... Again!

John 17

Jesus Prays for Himself

1After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: "Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. 2For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. 3Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. 4I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. 5And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.

Jesus Prays for His Disciples

6"I have revealed you[a] to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. 7Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. 8For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me. 9I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. 10All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them. 11I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name—the name you gave me—so that they may be one as we are one. 12While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled. 13"I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them. 14I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. 15My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. 17Sanctify[b] them by the truth; your word is truth. 18As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. 19For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.

Jesus Prays for All Believers

20"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: 23I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. 24"Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. 25"Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them."

~ Our Place and Status in Heaven ~

This chapter deals with our place in Heaven, as well as Earth. To make this sermon an easier read, my words and thoughts are in green The scriptures of Our Father, will be in blue.
2 Corinthians 5 (NIV)
Our Heavenly Dwelling

1 Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Note the words earthly TENT is used rather than earthly house or earthly home. This is because anything we have here, will pale to what we have waiting for us with Our Father 2 Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, 3 because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 4 For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. We have so much to look forward to. This is one reason Christians can look forward to our "death" here, and our "rebirth" into Heaven and being with Our Father.5 Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. A CHRISTIANS life does come with GUARANTEES!  6 Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. However, we are NOT away from the SPIRIT, That was left to us as "a DEPOSIT"7 We live by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 9 So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. We are to live our life here on Earth in a manner that will allow THE SPIRIT to live within ourselves. When we join Our Father, we will be clothed in Heavenly attire. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. We will be rewarded for BOTH the good and the BAD! The difference is WHAT the reward is! All the bad things we have done, will be rewarded with straw. As we lay our Treasures at the feet of Our Savior, it will have to be purified. All purification will be done with fire. So the straw will become ash. EVERYONE will have ash in their treasure... However for the GOOD deeds, we will be rewarded with gold and precious stones. These become MORE BRILLIANT when heated. Lets hope our gift to Our Lord can be seen by have just a little ash, and many stones!
The Ministry of Reconciliation
11 Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to persuade men. What we are is plain to God, and I hope it is also plain to your conscience. We know what we are, and so does Our Father. He can see every flaw we have. We have the opportunity to change these flaws with the Power of Prayer to Our Father. Just as we teach our children to be the BEST they can be, and show them "how they should go" Our Father does the same for us. 12 We are not trying to commend ourselves to you again, but are giving you an opportunity to take pride in us, so that you can answer those who take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the heart. 13 If we are out of our mind, it is for the sake of God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. 14 For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.  16 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! There are many that claim to be born again, but unless they show themselves to be a new creation, they fool only themselves. We are NOT to pass judgement on them, That is what Our Father does, however we can PRAY for them. There are some people that "Claim " to be Christians. I will not say they are either, again, it is not my job to judge them as saved either! Rest assured, I will know my Brothers and Sisters by the fruit they bring forth. An Apple tree does not produce an Orange!18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin[a] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
None of us are perfect, but we are forgiven. We are given the freedom to choose the path we take. Always remember to ask Our Father first. Sometimes the path is not clear. But from Our Fathers view, it is very easy to tell the proper path. Just as we guide our children, allow Our Father to guide you.
Have a great week... Pastor Mark

Gifts of Prophecy and Tongues...

What are they and Who has them.

The following sermon will be one of the longest I will ever send you, only because of the subject matter. It is important for us all to know what we are talking about when we are approached by others on this subject. Speaking in tongues means different things to different denominations. It is WRONG to say "I don't believe in speaking in tongues". It is Our Fathers language. It is a Prayer Language for many of Our Fathers children. But it is also misused by a few, and due to this, has gotten a bad reputation by some denominations. We were fore warned of the misuse of speaking in tongues. I have made this sermon long, in the hopes of making the subject clear. ~Pastor Mark

1 Corinthians 14

Gifts of Prophecy and Tongues

1Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy. 2For anyone who speaks in a tongue[a] does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit.[b] 3But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort. 4He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. 5I would like every one of you to speak in tongues,[c] but I would rather have you prophesy. He who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues,[d] unless he interprets, so that the church may be edified.
Pastoral Note: The Gift of Tongues is a direct link between the speaker and God. Our Father does NOT want a person to speak in Tongues within a group, without an interpreter. The better of the two gifts is the gift of Prophecy.

6Now, brothers, if I come to you and speak in tongues, what good will I be to you, unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or word of instruction? 7Even in the case of lifeless things that make sounds, such as the flute or harp, how will anyone know what tune is being played unless there is a distinction in the notes? 8Again, if the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle? 9So it is with you. Unless you speak intelligible words with your tongue, how will anyone know what you are saying? You will just be speaking into the air. 10Undoubtedly there are all sorts of languages in the world, yet none of them is without meaning. 11If then I do not grasp the meaning of what someone is saying, I am a foreigner to the speaker, and he is a foreigner to me. 12So it is with you. Since you are eager to have spiritual gifts, try to excel in gifts that build up the church.

13For this reason anyone who speaks in a tongue should pray that he may interpret what he says. 14For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. 15So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind. 16If you are praising God with your spirit, how can one who finds himself among those who do not understand[e] say "Amen" to your thanksgiving, since he does not know what you are saying? 17You may be giving thanks well enough, but the other man is not edified.

18 I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you. Pastoral Note: Please notice verse 18 refers to pray between him and God, not while in the church, in other words he prays more in tongues while in prayer.. 19But in the church I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue. Pastoral Note: It is better to be understood by others, than to confuse them.

20Brothers, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be adults. 21In the Law it is written:  "Through men of strange tongues and through the lips of foreigners I will speak to this people,  but even then they will not listen to me,"[f] says the Lord.

22Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers; prophecy, however, is for believers, not for unbelievers. 23So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues, and some who do not understand[g] or some unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your mind? 24But if an unbeliever or someone who does not understand[h]comes in while everybody is prophesying, he will be convinced by all that he is a sinner and will be judged by all, 25and the secrets of his heart will be laid bare. So he will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, "God is really among you!"

Orderly Worship
26What then shall we say, brothers? When you come together, everyone has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. All of these must be done for the strengthening of the church. 27If anyone speaks in a tongue, two—or at the most three—should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret. 28If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and God.

Pastoral Note: Verse 29-31 are the "RULES TO SPEAKING IN TONGUES"  29Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. 30And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop. 31For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged. 32The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets. 33For God is not a God of disorder but of peace. As in all the congregations of the saints, 34women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. 35If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church. Pastoral Note: It should be noted that while this states that women are not permitted to speak etc., this was referring to this particular point in time. Acts 2:18-21 speaks of mans future, which is our present day. I have included this below.

Acts 2:18 Even on my servants, both men and women,  I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.19I will show wonders in the heaven above  and signs on the earth below,  blood and fire and billows of smoke.  20The sun will be turned to darkness  and the moon to blood  before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.  21And everyone who calls  on the name of the Lord will be saved.

36Did the word of God originate with you? Or are you the only people it has reached? 37If anybody thinks he is a prophet or spiritually gifted, let him acknowledge that what I am writing to you is the Lord's command. 38If he ignores this, he himself will be ignored.[i]

39Therefore, my brothers, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues. 40But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.
