Cross Is the Sabbath Saturday or Sunday?
To start with, the day starts at sundown, and lasts till the following sundown. This means that Sunday, according to the Bible, begins at sundown on Saturday. This means the first day of the week would be sundown on Saturday. So why do we call Sunday our Sabbath? (unless you are a Seventh Day Adventist) And does it really matter?  I will try to show BOTH sides of this subject, and start with this scripture:

Galatians 4:8-11 (NIV)  8Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods. 9But now that you know God—or rather are known by God—how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable principles? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? 10You are observing special days and months and seasons and years! 11I fear for you, that somehow I have wasted my efforts on you.

Now, allow me to add MORE scriptures to this message...

Colossians 2:16-19

16Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink or with regard to a religious festival, New Moon celebration, or a Sabbath day. 17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come the reality however is found in Christ. 18 Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions. 19 He has lost connection with the Head from whom the whole body supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews grows as God causes it to grow.

I really hate to bring denomination into this, and I will never say that one is correct, and the other is wrong. However to explain it correctly, you need to be aware of the other churches (Denominations), and how they feel,  are also correct.  The Bible states the possibility of having two opposing views, and both being correct.  This is in Romans Chapter 14. (Included below Mark 16)Cross
Mark 16
The Resurrection
1The next evening, when the Sabbath ended, Mary Magdalene and Salome and Mary the mother of James went out and purchased burial spices to put on Jesus' body. 2Very early on Sunday morning,[
1] just at sunrise, they came to the tomb.
9It was early on Sunday morning when Jesus rose from the dead, and the first person who saw him was Mary Magdalene, the woman from whom he had cast out seven demons.

Romans 14
The Danger of Criticism

1Accept Christians who are weak in faith, and don't argue with them about what they think is right or wrong. 2For instance, one person believes it is all right to eat anything. But another believer who has a sensitive conscience will eat only vegetables. 3Those who think it is all right to eat anything must not look down on those who won't. And those who won't eat certain foods must not condemn those who do, for God has accepted them. 4Who are you to condemn God's servants? They are responsible to the Lord, so let Him tell them whether they are right or wrong. The Lord's power will help them do as they should.
5In the same way, some think one day is more holy than another day, while others think every day is alike. Each person should have a personal conviction about this matter.
6Those who have a special day for worshiping the Lord are trying to honor him. Those who eat all kinds of food do so to honor the Lord, since they give thanks to God before eating. And those who won't eat everything also want to please the Lord and give thanks to God. 7For we are not our own masters when we live or when we die. 8While we live, we live to please the Lord. And when we die, we go to be with the Lord.
So in life and in death, we belong to the Lord. 9Christ died and rose again for this very purpose, so that he might be Lord of those who are alive and of those who have died.
10So why do you condemn another Christian[1] ? Why do you look down on another Christian? Remember, each of us will stand personally before the judgment seat of God. 11For the Scriptures say,
" `As surely as I live,' says the Lord, every knee will bow to me and every tongue will confess allegiance to God.' "[2] 12Yes, each of us will have to give a personal account to God. 13So don't condemn each other anymore. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not put an obstacle in another Christian's path.
14I know and am perfectly sure on the authority of the Lord Jesus that no food, in and of itself, is wrong to eat. But if someone believes it is wrong, then for that person it is wrong. 15And if another Christian is distressed by what you eat, you are not acting in love if you eat it. Don't let your eating ruin someone for whom Christ died. 16Then you will not be condemned for doing something you know is all right.
17For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God. And other people will approve of you, too. 19So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up.
20Don't tear apart the work of God over what you eat. Remember, there is nothing wrong with these things in themselves. But it is wrong to eat anything if it makes another person stumble. 21Don't eat meat or drink wine or do anything else if it might cause another Christian to stumble. 22You may have the faith to believe that there is nothing wrong with what you are doing, but keep it between yourself and God. Blessed are those who do not condemn themselves by doing something they know is all right. 23But if people have doubts about whether they should eat something, they shouldn't eat it. They would be condemned for not acting in faith before God.
If you do anything you believe is not right, you are sinning.

Cross So, because you are lukewarm.....
Why we must do more than attend church on Sunday is covered in today's message. This is why we must be what we claim we are. Luke warm faith will have you stoking the fires of Hell. This is not to say that you lose your Salvation, it is to say you never had it to start with! We are changed when we accept Christ as our Savior.
I know my neighbors, but I am not a part of their family. This is how many people are about Our Father. They know of Him, they like the idea of Everlasting life. But they must be a part of the Family to "inherit" the Kingdom of God! My family will inherit  from me, NOT my neighbor.
This is not to discount the value of a neighbor, we are to love them as Christ loved us BEFORE we were saved. However, if your neighbor does not accept Christ as their Savior, they will not join us in Heaven, regardless of how nice they are to you.
This is confusing to many. The scripture states we are NOT judged by our works, but by what is in our hearts, and if we are saved. The bottom line is this. When we are saved, we are changed. If the change does not take place, then you might want to sit down  and have a long talk to your Pastor. God takes away our "want to" and replaces it with a "need to".
If you do something  for someone and take the credit, then you have received all the reward you are going to get. If you tell them to thank God for your ability to help them, then you bring glory to Our Father. You will be rewarded with a warm feeling from Our Father then,  and be rewarded again in Heaven.
One of the things I love about my wife, is she insists that folks "Pay ahead" rather than pay her back. She lets them know that it is with the blessings from God, that we are able to help others. All that we have belongs to Our Father. He has blessed us with a comfortable home and six children.
We try to make all who enter our home feel welcome. Perhaps this is why we also have all the kids in our neighborhood at our home. I say this, not to "toot" our own horn, but to testify that this type of giving is so blessed by God! The joy of putting a smile on a face that has not had a reason to smile in weeks is awesome. The thought that with some help today, that person will be able to help others "down the road" is a double blessing for us.
I know that many of our readers are unable to attend regular church services.  Today I ask that all the readers that can attend a service, pray for the readers that would love to be able to attend, but can not. As you attend your home churches, will you please ask for prayer for the SalvationFirst PrayerWheel. The needs of many are posted on this "Wheel of Faith". Cross
Revelation 3
14"To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:
These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation. 15I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
17You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. 19Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. 20Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. 21To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."

Cross The Rules to asking and receiving

The Rules to asking and receiving are found in James Chapter 4 . Our Father always answers prayers. When we say that sometimes He answers with a "no", it is not a "cop out". I would not give my child a gun, just because he asked for one. I know what is best for my child, as God knows what is best for me. Always pray "If it is in Your will Father...".

The reason for this is simple. HE MIGHT SAY YES,  JUST TO TEACH YOU A LESSON!   Think of it like this: you tell your child to stay away from the toaster "it is HOT."  You repeat this over and over, till one day, you allow it. The child gets a burn. and learns a lesson.

We must remember that what we think would help us, might not be in our best interest. Our Father sees tomorrow, we don't. He knows our Great grand children that are yet to be born. (Jeremiah 1:4-5) 4 The word of the LORD came to me, saying,  5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew [a] you,  before you were born I set you apart;  I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=30&chapter=1&version=31   I know this may seem like a long read, but an important one to learn. I ask that you save it, and read it when you find more time. It will open your eyes and answer many of your "Why did" questions. I have included the links  for you to use if you would like to carry this message farther. Cross

James 4  Submit Yourselves to God

1What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battle within you? 2You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. 3When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

4You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. 5Or do you think Scripture says without reason that the spirit he caused to live in us envies intensely?  Footnote:Or that God jealously longs for the spirit that He made to live in us; or that the Spirit He caused to live in us longs jealously 6But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud  but gives grace to the humble(Footnote Proverbs 3:34)~

7Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.

11Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. 12There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you - who are you to judge your neighbor?

Boasting About Tomorrow
13Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." 14Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." 16As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil. 17Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins.

Cross The 'Blessed in God" say
"I get to go to Church"
"Living the life of a Christian" and saying that you "Go to church on Sundays" are two different things all together. If only Christians went to church, there would be little point in having an Altar Call.
Going to church on Sunday should be  "like getting a fill up of gas for your car". On Sunday, you should get a fill up for your soul and spirit at church. It should be a time you have the "Family Reunion" with your Christian brothers and sisters. Going to church is not a chore, it is a blessing.
We go there to worship our Holy Father, His Son, and give thanks for all He has done for us that week. Many times I have heard  people say "I have to go to church". The 'Blessed in God" say "I get to go to Church" or " I want to go to church" Do you see the difference?
We all know God loves us (John 3:16), but to be able to confess to others, your love for God, is what will make a difference in your life. It is easier to say you love YOUR father, than to say you love  your NEIGHBORS father. God is MY Holy Father, and I am proud to say it.
I am in awe that He knows me. The Creator of all things loves me the same way I love my children! Can it get any better than that? Some people do not know what worship means, but then, that is a message in itself.Cross

Cross We WILL be in HEAVEN with
God the Father and God the Son.
The following means as much to me as John 3:16 does.  I guess because it mentions that we WILL be in HEAVEN with God the Father and God the Son.  It also states how important it is OBEY what is COMMANDED of us. Lack of faith is mentioned in verse 17. Read this twice if you have accepted Christ as your Savior, It will mean more to the saved, than those it speaks about.  Cross

John 14:15-24 (New International Version)

Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit and that we will join Him in Heaven.
15"If you love me, you will obey what I command. 16And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— 17the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you know Him, for he lives with you and will be[a] in you. 18I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."

22Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, "But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?"

23Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

Message # 6 Page 1
Cross Today's sermon is some of the most misunderstood
Scripture of both husbands and wives.
Ephesians 5:22-33
22Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.
This does not make men "Masters" over their wives. Jesus NEVER considered Himself to be our Master. He lead us with love, just as we are to lead our families. He was willing to die for us, just as a husband should be willing to die for his wife.
24Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
Just as Jesus is the Head of the Church, a husband is head of the home. Anything with two heads, is a freak! Remember also that Jesus answered all questions asked of Him. He told the reason WHY is was to be. A husband must allow his wife to ask questions, and answer them. Christ did this... ALWAYS. He never said "Because I said so." Jesus was the example for all husbands to follow. This thought is carried on into the next verses.

25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26to make her holy, cleansing[2] her by the washing with water through the word, 27and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.
All husbands should make their wives look pure. We should bring out the best in them. This will allow them to bring out the best in us. If a wife fails, it is due to poor leadership from the husband.  Too many husbands blame their faults on their wives. Men, if you want to lead, then be a leader! Wives, if you want to make the best of your marriage, then follow! I have never seen a church follow Christ, and fail. Wives, you are the church! It is a position of honor!
28In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church-- 30for we are members of his body. 31"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh."[3]
Just as the Church is Christ, and Christ is the Church. It is hard to tell where one starts and the other begins. They are one. They work as one. They live as one. They think as one. They love as one. The Church supports Christ, and Christ supports The Church.
32This is a profound mystery--but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

I hope this makes it clear  that the Bible considers the role of wife as a position of honor. In our marriage vows both husband and wife promise God they will love and honor each other. But then it is the husband that vows to cherish, and the wife vows to obey.Cross

Cross Why should we fear anyone?
Our Father in Heaven has told us He is with us. Not some of the time, All the time! Because Our Father is with us, we are given gifts of all types. As Christians, you are to be made aware of them.
We are in this world, we are not OF this world, . We have bragging rights! The Enemy is beneath us, The people that are not Gods children are the grass that we walk over. If you must have a fear, it should be of your lack of faith in Our Father!
We have become tame in our actions, and this will cost us. Our children have lost the right to pray in school. A woman is starved to death in Florida. We are allowed Christmas, but only if we do not mention the birth of Our Savior! We should not ask meekly,  and see what happens. We pray that it is Gods will, then go with the Power of God, and get it done!
Our Savior did what needed to be done. He set the example for us to follow. He did not say "I have much to live for, I will wait till I am 95 to die for your sins!"  He did what He came to Earth for!  Cross
Isaiah 51:12-13
New International Version
"I, even I, am he who comforts you. Who are you that you fear mortal men, the sons of men, who are but grass, that you forget the Lord your Maker, who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth, that you live in constant terror every day because of the wrath of the oppressor, who is bent on destruction? For where is the wrath of the oppressor?

 How do you give?

Cross Let me start with an old joke about giving. We might laugh at it because we know people like this, but many people laugh because it  "hits them where they live." However, they will never be blessed with more, because they do not know how to part with any.

Father O'Shea, the parish priest in the village, was giving a sermon about charity.  He said, "The trouble with the world today is that some people have too much and others have too little.  We must give of ourselves and our worldly goods to help the less fortunate."

He said to Harrigan, "If you had ten thousand pounds, wouldn't you give half of it to the poor?"

He said, "I would that, Father."

The priest said, "If you had two greyhounds, wouldn't you give one of them to your neighbor next door?"

Harrigan said, "No."

The priest said, "And why not?"

"Because I have two greyhounds."  he replied

As long as we are not put to the test, we give freely. What would we do if Christ had this type of giving? He told us, and showed us that giving from the heart is Christian giving. It is not something you talk about, or brag about. It is a blessing in its self. Those that give from the heart, are thankful that we have it to give!  We do not worry about what is left, we worry about what is right!

It is not right to make any of Gods children feel like they need to beg for needs. God gave you more than you needed to see what you would do with it. If you shared it, then you bring a smile to Our Fathers face. If you hoarded it, then you bring sadness to our Father. (But you bought a grin to Satan's  face)

To bring my point closer to home, I ask you this: How do you feel when YOUR CHILDREN share, without being told to. Are you just a little proud to say "That's MY child!"  Sharing and giving are both taught. I thought our youngest daughter (Grace) loved to share when she was 12 months old. (And I was so proud!) Now at 18 months old, I hear her yell, "NO! MINE! What happened? Well for one thing, at 12 months she was not sharing, because she did not know it was hers. She thought the others were sharing with her.  But as soon as she found out it was hers, boy did she let you know it!

If you want to make Our Father find favor in you, do the things that make you find favor in your children. It is said that children do not come with an Owners Manual. This is not true. The Bible is "The Manual" to raising children. The Word of God has wisdom that we need to use everydayCross

Message #9  Page 1

Cross  Faith is KNOWING what is on the other side.

You have heard many people answer the question "Are you going to Heaven" with "I hope so" or "I think so". Well, the Word of God says "These are things you should know". Thinking you might make it or hoping that it will happen, is not good enough. I have heard people say they "Got saved" ..."Just in case".  These are the people that are fooling themselves. Just as sure as the wind blows, I will be in Heaven with our Father and His Son! I have the Word of Our Father that guarantees it! The Blood of My Savior on the cross made it possible. With that being said , let me share a story with you...
What's on the other side?
A sick man turned to his doctor, as he was preparing to leave the examination room and said, "Doctor, I am afraid to die. Tell me what lies on the other side." Cross
Very quietly, the doctor said, "I don't know."
"You don't know? You, a Christian man, do not know what is on the other side?"
The doctor was holding the handle of the door; on the other side came a sound of scratching and whining, and as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room and leaped on him with an eager show of gladness.
Turning to the patient, the doctor said, "Did you notice my dog? He's never been in this room before. He didn't know what was inside. He knew nothing except that his master was here, and when the door opened, he sprang in without fear. I know little of what is on the other side of death, but I do know one thing. I know my Master is there, and that is enough.
This last line says it all! Many times we like to add our thoughts to those of the Bible. We say things like "He meant this" or "This has been translated different ways" We have to remember that Man made denomination, not God. God says to have faith, not denomination. All of us are Children of Our Father. We will see things differently because He wants us to see it differently! In the Book of Romans, we are told "They are my servants, not yours! So lets not see where we differ, lets see where we are alike!  We are all His children. With that being said, some day I will meet you on "The other side"

Is there a difference between WICKED & EVIL ?

Is there a difference between WICKED & EVIL ?   Scripture shows the difference between the two. But to understand the difference, takes a little explaining. Basically  WICKED is a life style, and EVIL is a condition of both your heart AND soul.

It is not possible to not be evil but still be wicked.  Translation~ NOT ALL UNSAVED ARE WICKED, HOWEVER NONE OF THE TRULY SAVED ARE WICKED. This is because when we become one of God's Children, we also become a new creation. Our nature changes. We enjoy going to church to praise and to worship our Heavenly Father. We also go to praise, worship (Show our love), and give thanks to Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ . Just as children show their love to parents by obeying them, it is not the only way they do it. Going to church is more like giving God a hug and a kiss. It is the desire to do right and the desire to bring honor to God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.
So always allow your nature to show your love to one another. Remember the Christian you are talking to is a Child of God's, and deserves all the rights given to him / her by Our Father. We tell OUR children to love their siblings, do God's Children deserve less?
