Not Perfect... But Forgiven!

The following scripture lets us know that we are all still going to sin. We all back slide everyday. There is a difference between being in a back slidden state, and staying in a back slidden state. If you are in a back slidden state, you have the gift from Jesus to be forgiven, and you use this gift to ask for this forgiveness. Understand this, when you sin, you have back slidden! You must ask for forgiveness to get "right" again.

Staying in a back slidden state is a risk that I suggest you NEVER try. "Once saved always saved" could be true, but if you stay back slidden, then you might begin to wonder if you ever were truly saved. We become a new creation when we  truly are saved. Our nature changes. We feel a guilt when we do wrong or immoral things. We quickly ask for forgiveness at the slightest thought of doing wrong! It is in our "NEW" nature to ask for this forgiveness. This is due to us experiencing God living within us. We know that God will not live within a body that is full of sin, however He never leaves us either. In a back slidden state, we leave Him! Our Father will always be right where we left Him. We must go back to that place in our life, and ask for forgiveness from that point on. I pray the scripture below will now be easier to understand.

1 John 1:4-9
(New International Version)
4  We write this to make our[a] joy complete. 5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all[b] sin. 8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
